Day 1: Addis Ababa – Arba Minch
In Addis Ababa, guests will be welcomed and transferred to a hotel for day use by Mewale tour and travel representative to relax and freshen up before been driven to the airport again to catch their domestic flight to Arbaminch. Overnight Arbaminch
Day 2: Arbaminch – Lake Chamo- Dorze Village
Morning you will visit the ‘crocodile market’ on Lake Chamo. This Lake is known for its enormous population of aquatic life such as the giant Nile Crocodiles, Hippopotamus, and different species of birds. In the afternoon guests will tour the Dorze Village of Chencha town situated 3000m above sea level with the highest peak of Guge mountain overlooking the rift valley lakes. The Dorze people are famous for their unique elephant head-like houses built from bamboo trees. Their tobacco parties during market days, dancing styles, and traditional weaving are also contributors to their unique lifestyle. Overnight Arbaminch
Day 3: Arbaminch – Jinka
Leave to Jinka on the way, visit the unique colorful market at Keyafer (if the day is Thursdays) where the Benna, Tsemai, and Ari tribes come together each with their unique dressing styles, decorated in colorful beads and ornamentation.
Late afternoon tour to the Ari village; Here guests will be able to visit one of the largest and hard-working tribes in the Omo valley. Their villages are uniquely encircled with different species of commercial and non-commercial plants. They are a very friendly society and offer different outdoor activities that welcome and engage visitors. After spending time enjoying the activities, visit the Cottage Industry at one of the villages before returning to Jinka in time for dinner. Overnight Jinka
Day 4: Jinka – Mursi- Turmi
After an early breakfast, guests will drive out to visit the Mursi tribes through the Mago National Park, where guests may encounter some game animals that suddenly emerge on the road. The Mursi tribes are well known for their distinctive body patterns, lip plate, and hanging earlobes, and seasonal stick fighting (Donga). Guests will then proceed its Trip to Turmi. Overnight Turmi
Day 5: Turmi- Omorate – Turmi
After breakfast, guests will be driven to Omorate, where a short trip across the Omo river on a traditional canoe will allow guests to visit the village to the Dassanech tribe who have settled around the eastern and western bank of the Omo River bordering northern Kenya. The Dassanech tribe is also well known for their body paintings for beautification purposes.
In the late afternoon, guests will be driven to one of the nearest Hamer villages to visit their way of life. (Depending on the season and if it meets the occasion- a visit can be arranged to see their unique traditional dance and bull jumping ceremonies). Overnight Turmi
Day 6: Turmi – Karo – Turmi
Early in the morning make an excursion from Turmi to Murielle; to visit the Karo tribe that is known for its different body paintings and decorations. Then back to Turmi to visit Hamer’s tribal local market. Overnight Turmi
Day 7: Turmi – Konso
After an early breakfast leaves Turmi to Konso which is registered with UNSECO as a world heritage site of Ethiopia. Here, guests will visit the rock formations (Gessergio) monuments, the traditional stone walled towns (Paleta), and their organization and associated cultural properties including the Kanta (Ward system), Mora (Cultural space), with its men house (Pafta), Generation marker tree (Olayta), erected stones (Daga-hela and Daga-diruma), the dry stone terrace (kabata), used for water and soil conservation, The traditional maintained grooves (forests) which serve as a refuge for many endemic plants, the burial marker statuettes (Waka) made of wood and unique to Konso people. Day 8: Konso – Hawasa
Early in the morning leave Konso to Hawasa . In the afternoon take private time in the lake Side of Hawasa. OverNight in Hawasa.
Day 9: Hawasa -Addis Ababa
In the early morning drive to Addis Ababa. As per the available time, guests will have a chance for Shopping. In the evening, guests will enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the traditional restaurants with a live folkloric show and drive to the airport for your departure.
