Site: Bahir dar, Lake Tana, Blue Nile Falls, Awrua Amba Community, and Lalibela

Day 1: Fly from Addis Ababa to Bahir Dar, Visit Blue Nile Falls, and Lake Tana

Early morning, a short flight will take guests to Bahirdar. Upon arrival, Mewale tour guides will welcome the guests and drive them to the hotel to check-in and refresh before sight-seeing begins.

Guests will be escorted to Lake Tana for a memorizing boat ride to the medieval island monasteries such as Ura Kidane Mehiret & Azuwa Mariam Monasteries, where they can capture the aged essence of the beautiful mural paintings, religious books & sacred treasures.

After lunch, guests will take an hour’s drive south-east of Bahir Dar to the small village of Tis Isat to visit the spectacular Tis Abay (the water that smokes) or Blue Nile Falls.  After a breathtaking time at Tis Abay, guests will be driven back to Bahirdar city. Overnight Bahir Dar

Day 2: Bahir Dar, Awra Amba community, Lalibela

After an early breakfast, guests will be driven to Lalibela. En route, a detour will take place to visit “Awrua Amba” – a self-governed Ethiopian community in the province, founded in 1980 by ZumraNuru who was known as a wandering preacher that was bent on spreading his own ideas.  There is no religion ruling this community as it is considered taboo.  The village is unique in many ways as there exists a completely coherent way of life where gender equality is one of the particular traits of the community.  Guests will be mystified at the exemplary way the community work together for the common welfare, as profits are divided among the residents equally. After a short visit, guests will proceed to Lalibela. Overnight Lalibela

Day 3: Rock Churches of Lalibela

The small town of Lalibela is home to one of the world’s most astounding sacred sites: The eleven rock-hewn churches, each carved entirely out of a single block of granite with its roof at ground level. After breakfast, guests will go on a guided tour to visit the famous rock-hewn churches including the legendary St. George church, the trenches symbolic of the river of Jordan, and the recreated tomb of Adam. Day 4: Fly Back to Addis Ababa

After breakfast, guests will take the morning flight back to Addis Ababa. . As per the available time, guests will have a chance for Shopping.  In the evening, guests will enjoy a farewell dinner at one of the traditional restaurants with a live folkloric show and drive to the airport for your departure.
